This past week, I presented my elevator pitch to the class, which summed up my project in just sixty seconds. A lot of the feedback I got revolved around the physical presentation part of the project, and I’ll admit that I did not prepare for it and simply read the mind map the entire time. Next time, I hope to practice it a couple times the night before, so I know what to say and won’t have to refer to a paper during my presentation. Going along with that, eye contact is also very important during pitches like these, so I hope to improve with that next time as well by rehearsing what I’m going to say.
It has been yet another slow week for my project, as I haven’t found the time outside of class to work. I’m still trying to come up with ways to organize my site and with the media aspect of the project. Since my project focus is on familiarizing issues that the media disregards, I need to find a way to get these issues out there in a way that the targeted audience will be reached effectively. When I spoke with Mr. Heidt, we discussed that I should start researching approaches to this matter, which adds to the goals I have to complete for this week on top of compiling research onto my site so I can start the spreading awareness aspect of the project.
